Do not buy this coffee pot unless you enjoy wiping up spill when you pour from the pot. I use this in my office and I wipe up water after I pour it in the coffee maker, and I wipe up coffee when I pour it in the cup. What a disappointment.
It packs well and makes great coffee in the stainless carafe. They are dependable, this is my fifth and they have all worked very well with no problems. In my opinion, you just can't get a better coffeemaker than Cuisinart. The icing on the cake is they are in my favorite color, pink, and you help support breast cancer research by purchasing them. I have changed colors, upgraded to grind and brew, but have never had one break or quit working. I have a large pink one in my kitchen now and take this one with me to work and travel. Win win situation and makes perfect coffee. Cuisinart has exceptional quality, great selection and colors for a very reasonable price.
Horrible design. Another example of a company making a product without testing it. You cannot pour coffee without having it drip all over the counter. The carafe has a rim around the inside that makes it impossible for the coffee to pour correctly. Don't buy it. There are plenty of other coffee makers.

I ran water through it to minimize the new plastic taste and then made my first cup of coffee. However, while this coffee pot is ideal for me it has some flaws that bother people.The pot is not glass but metal. After three years or so of heavy use, the switch went on my coffee pot. I contacted Amazon and they told me how to print out their mailing label and send it back. I usually take my time and have no problems.It has a warming plate with an automatic off feature. It worked fine one time and then it failed. The replacement of my replacement works like a charm.
I don't have this need and I can get all the information I need by lifting the pot.Some people sense a plastic taste. I ordered the exact same type from Amazon and it came in a few days. Some people like to see how much coffee is left. I threw out the coffee and the filter and tried again, but I could not get it to work. They sent me a replacement before I could get to the Post Office to send mine back. I did not experience this, but I did run water through it a few times.It also has a poorly designed spout that has a tendency to spill. I love this because I don't have to worry if I turned the coffee pot off or not.It is the perfect pot for me.
